MEET OUR TEACHERS!
All piano teachers have passed our intensive Class Piano Training Course before being considered for employment. Many have advanced degrees in music and all have extensive training, performing and/or teaching experience.
A supervisor visits all teachers on a regular basis to observe teaching methods and monitor the progress of the classes.
Sabrina Faustin
Sabrina Faustin has been teaching with MCCP for four years.
She currently teaches at Galway Elementary School. She has been playing the piano for 15 years and was classically trained by former colleague Mrs. Alexandra Karousatos.
Sabrina shares that working with MCCP these past four years has been an amazing experience & being able to blend her love for music and working with kids into one job has been nothing short of a blessing! Watching her students develop into talented musicians is truly a rewarding feeling!
Valerie Campbell
Valeria is one of our newest teahers! She has been taking lessons from one of our former teachers for 16 years. She completed the training course to teach Class Piano given by Alexandra Karousatos and will start teaching this fall! We're excited to have her on board.
Sylvia Strumpf
Sylvia Strumpf has been teaching with MCCPT since 2008. She has enjoyed working with children most of her adult life, but teaching piano to groups of children in a class setting has required specialized techniques and comprehensive training which she was fortunate to have with Alexandra Karousatos, a master teacher and valued MCCPT colleague.
Currently, Sylvia is teaching at Darnestown Elementary School and has found that her class piano students, especially beginners when they enroll in the class piano program, have progressed more quickly and gained a broader music theory knowledge base than many of their peers taking individual lessons.
